Terms of Use introduction

TRUTH. RESILIENCE. GRACE. exists to support truth, encouragement, and connection. These Terms establish the boundaries needed to keep that space respectful, lawful, and as safe as reasonably possible.

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of www.TruthResilienceGrace.com, including accounts, newsletters, comments, forums, story-submission tools, and related online services (collectively, the "Services"). TRUTH. RESILIENCE. GRACE. ("TRG," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Farah Irvin-Matott, an individual based in Texas.

By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, or selecting a button indicating acceptance, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding agreement to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet these requirements. The Services are not directed to minors.

During registration, you must separately confirm that you are at least 18 years old. Any optional birthday month and day you provide is used only for birthday greetings you request and is not used as proof of age.

2. Purpose of the Services

TRG provides personal narratives, educational information, encouragement, peer connection, community discussion, and resources concerning abuse, trauma, healing, resilience, faith, and related life experiences. We may change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, subject to applicable law.

3. Not Professional Care or Emergency Support

TRG is not a law firm, medical provider, mental-health provider, crisis-response service, or emergency service. The Services do not create an attorney-client, doctor-patient, therapist-client, fiduciary, confidential, or other professional relationship. Content is provided for general informational, educational, and peer-support purposes and is not legal, medical, psychological, financial, or other professional advice.

Do not delay or disregard professional advice because of content on the Services. Individual stories and community comments reflect personal experiences and opinions; they are not diagnoses, treatment plans, legal conclusions, or guarantees that another person will have the same experience or outcome.

The Services are not monitored continuously and cannot provide immediate help. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency in the United States, call 911. If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, emotional distress, or a mental-health or substance-use crisis, call or text 988 or use the 988 Lifeline chat. If you are outside the United States, contact your local emergency number or crisis service.

4. Accounts and Account Security

  1. Provide accurate, current information and keep it updated.
  2. Protect your email account, sign-in links, authenticated sessions, devices, and any other login credentials.
  3. Do not share, sell, transfer, or permit another person to use your account.
  4. Accept responsibility for activity occurring through your account, except to the extent prohibited by law.
  5. Promptly notify Admin@TruthResilienceGrace.com if you suspect unauthorized access, impersonation, or another security problem.

We may require identity or email verification, refuse registration, reclaim usernames, or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the Services or enforce these Terms.

5. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information. Public posts are not confidential. A private contact or story-submission form also does not create a privileged or professional relationship and must not be used for emergencies.

Birthday emails are entirely optional. Declining to share your birthday or receive birthday emails will not affect your eligibility, application review, membership, or account access. You may change your preference at any time as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Community Standards

Participate with honesty, compassion, and respect. The purpose of the community is support and shared understanding—not harassment, retaliation, public investigation, or public adjudication of private disputes.

You may not use the Services to post, send, promote, or facilitate content or conduct that:

  1. Threatens, harasses, stalks, intimidates, humiliates, exploits, or encourages violence or self-harm.
  2. Contains hate speech, discriminatory abuse, sexual exploitation, nonconsensual intimate content, or graphic material posted without an appropriate warning or legitimate context.
  3. Identifies a survivor, child, alleged abuser, family member, witness, medical provider, employer, or other third party through a full name, image, address, workplace, contact details, case number, or other identifying information without a lawful basis and appropriate permission.
  4. Publishes another person's private communications, medical information, financial information, legal documents, recordings, or photographs without authorization.
  5. States or implies unverified accusations of crime, abuse, professional misconduct, or other serious wrongdoing about an identifiable person. Share your own experience using nonidentifying details and first-person language whenever possible.
  6. Is knowingly false, deceptive, defamatory, fraudulent, unlawful, or intended to manipulate, impersonate, or mislead.
  7. Infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contractual, or other rights.
  8. Contains spam, unauthorized advertising, solicitations, chain messages, malware, malicious code, scraping tools, or attempts to collect information from other users.
  9. Attempts to evade moderation, create unauthorized accounts, interfere with site operation, reverse engineer protected technology, or gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
  10. Encourages another person to violate these Terms or any applicable law.

When discussing difficult experiences, use content warnings where appropriate and avoid unnecessary graphic detail. Never pressure another user to disclose their identity, location, medical history, legal history, or trauma.

7. User Content

7.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of original content you submit, post, or upload ("User Content"). You are responsible for your User Content and the consequences of making it available.

7.2 License for Public and Community Content

When you post User Content to a public or community feature, you grant TRG a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute within the Services, and make technical or moderation-related modifications to that content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and promote the feature in which you posted it. This license lasts while the content remains available through the Services and for a reasonable period in backups, security records, and legally required archives.

TRG will not intentionally turn a private story submission into a featured or promotional publication merely because it was submitted. Featured stories, testimonials, photographs, recordings, and materially edited narratives require separate, affirmative publication permission or a separate release describing the authorized use.

7.3 Your Promises About User Content

You represent and warrant that:

  1. You created the User Content or have all permissions necessary to submit it and grant the license above.
  2. The User Content and our permitted use of it do not violate another person's rights, a court order, a protective order, a confidentiality agreement, or applicable law.
  3. You have removed or lawfully authorized sensitive and identifying information about other people.
  4. Any factual claims you make are honestly believed and based on your own knowledge or experience.
  5. The User Content complies with these Terms and all feature-specific submission rules.

7.4 Removal Requests

You may delete eligible content through your account or request removal by contacting Admin@TruthResilienceGrace.com. We will take reasonable steps to honor valid requests, subject to technical limitations, legal obligations, safety needs, dispute preservation, backups, and content already copied or shared by others. Removing User Content does not require TRG to retrieve screenshots, quotations, reposts, or other copies outside our control.

8. Moderation, Reporting, and Enforcement

TRG may, but is not required to, review content before or after it appears. We may label, restrict, redact, edit for formatting or privacy, decline to publish, remove, preserve, or report content; limit features; suspend or terminate accounts; or take other reasonable action when we believe it is necessary to enforce these Terms, protect people, maintain community integrity, comply with law, or reduce legal or safety risks.

Moderation involves judgment, and we cannot guarantee that all objectionable, inaccurate, harmful, or unlawful content will be identified or removed. To report content or appeal a moderation decision, email a report or appeal. Do not use a report as an emergency request.

Approved members can also select Report beside a discussion, reply, or MY TRUTH comment, or use Report a concern for another issue. Reports are visible only to Farah through the private review queue and trigger an email alert to TRG administration. Community conversations and reports are not monitored continuously, and an email alert does not guarantee immediate review. Reported messages may be retained privately for review even if the original message is removed.

9. TRG Content and Intellectual Property

Except for User Content and third-party material, the Services and their original text, design, graphics, logos, branding, photographs, videos, organization, software, and other content are owned by or licensed to TRG and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, TRG grants you a limited, personal, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to access and use the Services for lawful, noncommercial purposes.

You may share links to publicly available pages and use ordinary platform sharing tools. You may not copy, republish, sell, scrape, train automated systems on, create derivative works from, remove attribution from, or commercially exploit TRG content without prior written permission, except as allowed by law.

10. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a written notice to Admin@TruthResilienceGrace.com that identifies the protected work, identifies the disputed material and its URL, provides your contact information, and includes the statements and signature required by applicable copyright law.

We may remove or restrict material in response to a valid notice and may notify the person who posted it. We may terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a copyright notice or counter-notice may create liability.

11. Feedback

If you voluntarily provide ideas, suggestions, or other feedback about the Services, you authorize TRG to use that feedback without restriction or compensation. This provision does not transfer ownership of your personal story or other User Content.

12. Third-Party Services and Resources

The Services may link to or display third-party websites, social-media features, advertisements, professional directories, crisis resources, or other materials. A link or reference does not necessarily mean TRG endorses or verifies the third party. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, privacy, security, products, services, or conduct. Your use of a third party is governed by that party's terms and policies.

13. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access immediately when reasonably necessary to address a safety or security risk, comply with law, prevent harm, or respond to a serious or repeated violation. For other violations, we may provide notice or an opportunity to correct the issue when appropriate.

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions concerning ownership, licenses needed for archival or legal purposes, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, disputes, and general terms.

14. No Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TRG DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT.

TRG does not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components; that content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your circumstances; that users will behave appropriately; or that moderation will identify every harmful or unlawful post. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply to you.

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRG AND ITS OPERATOR, CONTRIBUTORS, MODERATORS, CONTRACTORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND REPRESENTATIVES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOSS OF DATA, REPUTATION, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR OPPORTUNITY; EMOTIONAL DISTRESS ARISING FROM THIRD-PARTY CONTENT OR CONDUCT; OR DAMAGES ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON CONTENT, UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, SERVICE INTERRUPTION, OR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF TRG AND ITS OPERATOR FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID DIRECTLY TO TRG FOR THE SERVICES DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) $100.

These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. They do not limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other liability that applicable law requires.

16. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TRG and its operator, contributors, moderators, contractors, service providers, and representatives from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, and reasonable costs and attorneys' fees arising from your User Content, your unlawful or wrongful conduct, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights. TRG may control the defense of a covered claim, and you agree to cooperate. This section does not require indemnification for conduct attributable solely to TRG where prohibited by law.

17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any dispute arising from them or the Services are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except where federal law applies or applicable consumer law requires otherwise.

Before filing a lawsuit, you and TRG agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days after written notice. A notice to TRG must be sent to Admin@TruthResilienceGrace.com and must describe the dispute and requested resolution. This informal process does not prevent either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief or filing a claim before a limitations period expires.

Unless applicable law requires another forum, exclusive venue for a dispute that is not resolved informally will lie in the state courts located in Midland County, Texas, or the federal court with jurisdiction over Midland County, Texas. You and TRG consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Services, community needs, or legal requirements change. Updated Terms will be posted with a new "Last Updated" date, and we may provide additional notice for material changes. Changes apply prospectively when effective. Continued use after that date means you accept the revised Terms.

19. General Terms

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any separate written agreement that expressly supplements them are the entire agreement concerning the Services. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited only as necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without consent; TRG may assign them with a reorganization or transfer of the Services. Headings are for convenience only.
