Today... All I Can Do is Breathe

The past several weeks have been so very difficult. I feel frozen… numb… yet somehow completely shattered at the same time.

Since Jep was released from the hospital, we have been at the vet at least once a week. Each visit brings a little spark of hope… but sometimes that hope lasts only a moment before the fear of what may be coming consumes me again.

Today, we received a referral to a cardiologist in Dallas as our last option. Their earliest appointment is November 4th. I accepted it, and we are on their waiting list… but the truth is, I am afraid we may not have that many days left together.

My sweet baby boy, who once wanted nothing more than to be in my arms, has started hiding and spending time by himself. As I write this, he is not in my lap or curled up beside me. That absence hurts in a way I cannot explain.

I do not want to be selfish and as desperately as I want more time, I do not want that time at the expense of his comfort. If his suffering cannot be relieved, I will make the decision he needs me to make. I am his mommy… and doing what is best for him will always come first.

But knowing what love may require of me does not mean I feel strong enough to face it.

He was diagnosed with heart failure in June 2024. At the time, the doctor told us we might have anywhere from six months to two years. We have been so very blessed to have exceeded that time, and I am beyond grateful… but being grateful for the time we have shared does not make me ready for it to end.

He saved me. His unconditional love helped me through moments I did not know how to survive. He was there on the days I could not get out of bed. He was there during the days and nights I cried in the closet. He was there when I was terrified… when everything felt uncertain… when I did not know how I would keep going. On those days, I knew he needed me and that was enough for me to find my strength.

He is not simply part of my life. He is part of me… and he always will be.

So how do I prepare to live without this piece of my heart? The honest answer is… I have no idea.

I am struggling to function now because I am so afraid of what is coming. I want to be present with him, but my mind and heart keeps taking me to a goodbye I am not ready to say.

Today, I held him close and told him how much I love him… how much I will always love him... through my tears, I told him, “It is okay, my sweet baby boy. You do not have to protect Mommy anymore. If your little body is tired, you can go run and play in heaven. Mommy will love you forever.”

I have no idea what tonight will bring or what tomorrow will ask of me. But I will cherish the moments we have together. I will do my best to give him comfort, always gentleness, and the unconditional love he has given me so freely.

I wish I could hide every bit of my sadness and excruciating heartbreak from him because he feels it. I cannot promise there will be no tears… but I will keep telling him that he is loved unconditionally, how grateful I am for all the joy he has brought me, how he saved me, and that he does not have to keep fighting just for me.

♡

If today you are in a season of grief, fear, or uncertainty, please know you are not alone.

It's okay to just breathe.

Your feelings are valid.

Your love is real.

And you are stronger than you know... even in the moments you feel the most broken.

October 11, 2026Grateful for The Memories I Can Still Hold Close...

Grateful for The Memories I Can Still Hold Close...

Today, Jerry Hart & Flatland shared a post on Facebook from one of their performances and the song reminded me of being a little girl... standing with my little feet on top of my dad’s boots as we two-stepped.

I text him that memory. He remembered, too.

As we kept texting, my Dad mentioned other moments. Some I remembered... others, I couldn’t.

That is a tender part of my life as a survivor... living with gaps in my memory while certain moments remain so vivid.

My Dad brought up the time he was teaching me to drive my jeep... it was a hilarious memory that I recalled shared by just the two of us and the poor man trying to cross the street but another moment popped in my head... it was a frightening memory of flipping my jeep when I was in High School... I shared that memory with my Dad because I don't recall every mentioning what happened the moment I saw him jump out of his truck and rush toward me. I was terrified he would yell and be furious with me.

But he wasn't nor did he yell.

He grabbed me and held me so tight... I remember falling into his arms and feeling so safe.

Today, I am grateful I can still remember that embrace.

For survivors, difficulties with memory can bring grief, frustration, and questions that have no easy answers. PTSD can include trouble concentrating or remembering. Every person’s experience is different... and gaps in memory, by themselves, do not tell us why they happened.

But you do not need a perfect memory to deserve compassion.

You are allowed to grieve what you cannot recall... and treasure the good memories you do have. Gratitude does not require you to minimize your pain or pretend the abuse never happened.

A dance.

A song.

A laugh.

Someone holding you when you were frightened.

Those moments matter, too.

And if good memories feel out of reach today, there is no gratitude assignment you have failed. You still deserve gentleness, connection, and opportunities to experience safety and joy.

This week, I am giving myself grace for what I cannot remember... gratitude for the love I do remember... and permission to make new memories in my own time.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 (NIV)

God, meet us in the grief of what feels missing. Help us cherish the moments of love we remember, without forcing what we cannot. Bring safe people and tender new moments into our lives. Amen.

P.S. I Love You Dad.

With love...

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

This October, we remember those whose lives were taken, support those still experiencing abuse, and stand beside those trying to rebuild.

At TRG, you matter... including the days when you are exhausted, unsure, or simply trying to get through.

For those supporting someone who is or has experienced abuse... please listen to the survivor.

Please ask what they need before you feel the need to ask why they stayed. Offer help without taking over their decisions. And please do not expect their pain or trauma to disappear because the relationship ended. Healing is a journey... and that journey belongs to the survivor only.

If you are in the U.S. and need confidential support with relationship abuse, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE (7233) or text START to 88788. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

Starting Over When You Never Expected To…

Starting over when you never expected to…can feel overwhelming.

I’m Farah, founder of Truth. Resilience. Grace. I’m still finding my way, too.

I created TRG as a place for brutal truth and honest healing…where you can show up without pretending you’re okay.

Here, we honor what we’ve survived, make room for faith and hope, and offer ourselves GRACE along the way.

September 20, 2026Joshua 1:9 - Be Strong and Courageous

Joshua 1:9 - Be Strong and Courageous

Today, please offer yourself the GRACE to set down the burdens of the past week…even if only for a day or a moment.

I understand how difficult it can be to allow yourself to rest when so much remains unresolved and there is still so much to do.

You are allowed to stop and just breathe while concerns remain unsettled. Your mind, body, and soul need that rest.

As you look toward the week ahead, honor the TRUTH of what you have survived, lost, or gained…and give yourself credit for the RESILIENCE it has taken to get to today.

Take a deep breath and move forward at your own pace…with courage and kindness toward yourself and others.

Allow yourself time to quiet your mind and make room for peace.

Trust the path God is preparing for you. Whatever this new week holds, you do not have to face it alone.

God walks with you…one step at a time.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Road Less Traveled

A little hope found me again.

The hard days are very real, too.

My TRUTH still matters.

My RESILIENCE makes room for rest.

I give myself GRACE to heal at my own pace.

There is still more life ahead.

This next chapter still belongs to me and still belongs to you.

September 13, 2026He Saved Me

He Saved Me

Last night, while my sweet Jep was at the emergency vet, a young woman had to say goodbye to her precious fur baby.

As an empath, I absorb the emotions and energy of other people as if they were my own. Her grief consumed me, so I followed her outside and wrapped my arms around her as she sobbed.

Through her tears, she whispered three words: “He saved me.”

I do not know her or her story, nor do I know the meaning behind her words. There are so many ways our fur babies save us.

But her words did resonate with me.

In 2015, during a very difficult chapter of my life, I rescued Jep. Many rescues were desperately searching for him after a Facebook post went viral. One rescue called me to help. I immediately spent 2-days desperately searching for this baby. I was so discouraged for so many reasons...days had gone by and no one could find him.

Then I received a text, he had been found by a person working in that same area and they wanted to know if it could be my sweet baby boy Jax.

Jax had gone missing from my yard in May 2015 while playing outside with his siblings. I was offering a cash reward for his safe return, amazing people had put flyers all around Midland, the owners of the billboards had graciously added Jax to their billboards, I had a pet detective come in from Dallas to help, the news ran a story...I desperately needed my baby boy home.

Obviously, it was not Jax but I explained that so many people had been searching for that dog and I was getting in my car to come pick him up. As soon as I got him, I ran him to the vet. He was in horrible shape and in a lot of pain. I started gently cutting sticker burs from areas that I knew were very painful for him and I will never forget...with these large beautiful brown eyes, he looked at me and a single tear ran down his sweet face and at that very moment I knew God had given him to me so that I could protect him, love him, and ensure he would never be mistreated or neglected again.

What I didn't understand at the time was God gave him to me to love and protect because after years of searching for Jax, I would have to eventually accept Jax wasn't coming home. I also understood in my moment of acceptance, Jep was God's way of helping me through the devastation of losing Jax...Jep's love saved me.

I have always believed God put dogs on this earth to help teach us the true meaning of unconditional love.

Even the way DOG spells GOD in reverse has always felt like a gentle little reminder of my belief.

There is something profoundly comforting about being loved unconditionally without having to find the right words, or any words at all.

Dogs come close when we cry. They settle beside us on the floor. They rest their heads against us when we have nothing left to give. In the middle of a life that feels frightening or unfamiliar, their presence can become something we recognize...something gentle we can reach for, our safety.

For a survivor, that bond can hold a part of our story that few people ever see.

The nights on the closet floor.

The tears we tried to hide.

The moments we wondered how we would get through another day.

We care for them, protect them, and give them a place in our lives. In return, they give us all of them...their heart, their unconditional love, their affection, their protection....all of them.

Sometimes, “he saved me” carries years of a story that three words can barely hold.

That is why the fear of losing them can feel so overwhelming. And why saying goodbye can leave an emptiness that is difficult to overcome.

We grieve their companionship, their familiar routines, and the comfort of being loved by them through chapters we struggled to survive.

Today, I am holding on to the hopeful news from Jep’s veterinarian at Legacy Animal Emergency Hospital. I am also holding that young woman in my prayers...and every person who understands the depth of her words.

If you are waiting for a phone call, praying beside a little hospital bed, or missing the sound of familiar paws...there is room for your heart here.

You do not have to make your grief smaller so someone else can understand it.

Honor the TRUTH of what that love means to you.

Recognize the RESILIENCE it helped you find.

Give yourself GRACE in whatever you are feeling today.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” - Psalm 34:18, NIV

Dear God, please watch over the precious animals in our care, guide the hands working to help them, and draw near to every person who is frightened or grieving. Thank You for the love we have known through them. Help us care for them with tenderness and help us receive comfort when our own hearts need holding. - Amen.

September 11, 2026Starting Over

Starting Over

For the moments or days you need a gentle reminder:

Starting over is a part of your TRUTH, but it most certainly is not the end of your story. It is an opportunity to begin again with chapters still waiting to be written**.

You are rebuilding, rediscovering the woman or man God created you to be, and finding the courage to create a life you love…at your own pace and on your own terms.

There will be challenges. There will be difficult days, moments of uncertainty, and days when all you can do is pause and breathe. On those days, give yourself permission to rest, reach for support, and take your time.

There is so much hope in starting over...even if you cannot feel it yet. Learn from the past without asking yourself to live there. Give yourself time to rediscover your beautiful heart and soul, what brings you joy, and what makes you feel like YOU.

You are a survivor, and there is still so much of your story left to live.

Honor your TRUTH. Recognize your RESILIENCE. Give yourself GRACE.

September 10, 2026When Rejection Touches an Old Wound

When Rejection Touches an Old Wound

A job you hoped would help you rebuild.

A friendship you finally felt safe enough to trust.

An opportunity that made the future feel possible again.

When you have survived abuse, being turned away can reach a place much deeper than the present disappointment.

If rejection brings back the words you worked so hard to stop believing:

“I’m not enough."

"I’m unwanted." "Something must be wrong with me”

Please give yourself a moment of GRACE.

Remember, it took courage to apply.

It took courage to trust.

It took courage to believe something good might be waiting for you.

THAT COURAGE STILL BELONGS TO YOU.

The loss may have real consequences.

You may be grieving: 1)Connection

2)Financial security, or

3)The future you had begun to imagine.

You deserve space to acknowledge everything this meant to you.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH.

Let yourself feel the disappointment.

Please do not allow the disappointment to decide your worth.

Reach for someone who treats your feelings with care.

Give yourself time before deciding what comes next.

Your TRUTH includes everything you have overcome.

Your RESILIENCE can include resting and asking for support.

Your GRACE belongs to you on the days you feel most vulnerable, too.

Today, you can be hurting but you are still worthy.

You can feel discouraged and still have possibilities ahead.

You can take your next step when you are ready.

YOU ARE WORTHY!

September 9, 2026God Knows the Purpose He Has for Me - Jeremiah 29:11

God Knows the Purpose He Has for Me - Jeremiah 29:11

God Knows the Purpose He Has for Me, and He Will Fulfill It as I Faithfully Trust in Him.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

There are seasons when it is difficult to imagine a beautiful future... especially when you are still trying to make sense of a painful past.

You may wonder how you will begin again, where your next step will lead, or whether the dreams you once held are still possible.

God sees you in that uncertainty. You are Loved in the waiting, in the rebuilding, and on the days when your only prayer is...

“Lord, please help me through today.”

Faithfulness can look like taking one small step with trembling hands.

It can look like seeking support, setting a boundary, allowing yourself to rest, or finding the courage to try again.

You absolutely can have questions, shed continuous tears, and still faithfully trust Him.

The abuse you endured does not define your worth nor does it erase your future.

Healing takes time, and the path ahead may unfold very differently than you imagined.

Give yourself GRACE as you walk your path.

God’s unconditional love for you reaches into those moment, even while so much remains unresolved.

Today, take a breath.

Take Him your fears, your hopes, and the pieces you are still learning how to carry.

Ask for guidance to see the next step and the courage to take it.

Your story is still unfolding.

There is room ahead for healing, joy, and purpose.

My Beautiful Heavenly Father, help me trust You with what I cannot yet see. Guide my steps, strengthen my heart, and help me recognize Your presence along the way. Amen.

September 8, 2026Invisible Wounds Are Still Wounds

Invisible Wounds Are Still Wounds

Mental abuse may have made you question your memory, your reality, and your worth.

But the harm you endured was real.

You did not deserve it.

Your voice matters.

You are worthy of peace.

TRG honors your TRUTH and your journey back to yourself.

— Truth. Resilience. Grace.

September 7, 2026Honor the Work No One Sees

Honor the Work No One Sees

This Labor Day, TRG honors more than the work performed in offices, businesses, homes, and communities.

TRG honors the quiet, deeply personal work that often goes unseen.

The work of surviving what tried to break you.

The work of getting out of bed when your heart feels excruciatingly heavy.

The work of processing trauma, grieving what was lost or stolen, setting boundaries, rebuilding your confidence, and learning to trust yourself again.

The work of choosing peace after living in fear and chaos.

The work of offering yourself GRACE when healing feels overwhelming and your journey becomes incredibly demanding.

There may be no recognition, appreciation, or accolades for this type of work…but that does not make it any less valid.

Healing is challenging.

Rebuilding your life requires tremendous courage.

Beginning again takes extraordinary strength.

Today, honor every private battle you have fought, every difficult decision you have made, and every small step that has carried you forward.

Your progress may not always be visible to others, but it matters.

YOU matter.

The extraordinary work you are doing to reclaim your life is worthy of recognition.

September 6, 2026For Such a Time as This - Esther 4:14

For Such a Time as This - Esther 4:14

"And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

Esther did not begin her journey knowing how profoundly God would use her. She experienced loss, uncertainty, and fear. She was placed in circumstances she did not choose and eventually faced a moment that required extraordinary courage.

Esther could have remained silent. She could have allowed fear to convince her that she was powerless. Instead, she found the strength to embrace her TRUTH, recognize her RESILIENCE, and trust that God had placed her exactly where she needed to be.

Perhaps the experiences you survived were never part of the life you imagined (Your TRUTH). Perhaps you still question why you had to endure so much pain. But your suffering did not erase your purpose, and what tried to silence you did not take away the power of your voice.

Like Esther, there may come a moment when your story (Your TRUTH), your courage, and even the wounds you carry allow you to reach someone who desperately needs to know they are not alone.

You do not have to understand God’s entire plan today. You only need enough faith to take the next step when He asks you to move.

Your TRUTH has meaning.

Your RESILIENCE has prepared you.

God’s GRACE continues to carry you.

You are still here, and perhaps you have been preserved, strengthened, and called forward For Such a Time as This.

Love,

Farah

September 5, 2026YOU SAY

YOU SAY

Lauren Daigle’s song “You Say” continues to be one of my favorite songs. It is my “go-to” song whenever I need the encouragement and strength to keep moving forward.

It reminds me that I am loved.

I am not alone.

God is always with me. When I struggle to remember who I am and need to be reminded of who He says I am.

Today, I hope this song reminds you that the fear, pain, trauma, and voices that have caused you to question your worth do not define you.

You are loved.

You are strong.

You are held.

You belong.

You are His.

And when believing those words feels difficult, allow this song to carry the reminder for you.

— Lauren Daigle

September 4, 2026Rest Is NOT Giving Up

Rest Is NOT Giving Up

Some days, moving forward does not look like taking another step.

Sometimes, it looks like pausing because your mind is exhausted, your heart is overwhelmed, and you have carried all you can carry for one day.

Please do not mistake your exhaustion for weakness or your need to rest for failure.

You are allowed to step away, quiet the noise, and give yourself permission to simply breathe.

Everything does not have to be solved today.

Rest is not abandoning your healing journey.

Rest is recognizing that you deserve the same care, compassion, and GRACE you so freely offer everyone else.

Let that be enough.

September 3, 2026My Name

My Name

I first saw this video in 2019 at a marriage retreat. Once again, I was trying to repair my broken marriage because I believed it was my fault that he was having another affair.

*If only I had been a better wife…a better partner…a better woman…*

I could literally fill in blank after blank because I had been repeatedly told that his choices were somehow my fault.

I will never forget watching this video for the first time as tears streamed down my face. In that moment, I realized that the man sitting beside me was the very person who had made me feel unloved, unworthy, ugly, and never enough.

Those were the names I had been given—but they were never my identity.

Now, I share this video with anyone God places in my path who needs to be reminded that the painful names spoken over them do not define who they are.

Sometimes, we simply need someone to help us hear our New Name.

And perhaps today, God placed this video before you because you need to hear yours. 🩷

Your TRUTH Is Valid

You do not need to defend your TRUTH...especially to people who know only someone else’s version of it.

You know what you survived.

I encourage you to release the need to be understood by everyone and begin finding your way back to trusting yourself.

August 28, 2026Watch Me Soar

Watch Me Soar

I didn’t just Survive…

I analyzed the Wreckage.

I turned Heartbreak into Fuel.

Betrayal into Fire.

Every Scar into part of MY TRUTH.

Along the way, I lost relationships with people I deeply loved…people who never fully understood the depth of the suffering and abuse I endured.

Those losses were excruciating but in an unexpected way, stepping beyond their judgment lifted a weight I had been carrying for years.

Without the constant scrutiny, I was finally able to focus on Myself.

I began Healing.

I set Boundaries.

I recognized my Value.

I reclaimed my Self-Worth.

And in that clarity, something else happened…

I began to see, with absolute precision, who truly loves me unconditionally.

Not the people who questioned my pain, minimized MY TRUTH, or required me to defend MY TRUTH…but the ones who stood beside me without conditions, without doubt, and without an agenda.

That is the Real Transformation.

Not simply Surviving…but becoming Aligned, Self-Aware, Unshakable, and Unstoppable.

If you are standing in the wreckage of everything you once believed your life would be, please remember this…

You are NOT finished.

This may be the chapter where you Finally Discover your Wings.
